How to Remove Temporarily Closed Business Label on Google My Business

In the wake of current Coronavirus pandemic crisis, Google My Business tool that millions of business owners use to boost their visibility on local searches and maps, has suspended several of its features. One of it been the businesses marked as “Temporarily Closed”. Google in an official statement stated:

During the unprecedented COVID-19 situation, we are taking steps to protect the health of our team members and reduce the need for people to come into our offices. As a result, there may be some temporary limitations and delays in support as we prioritize critical services.

Later in March 2020, Google announced that Google searches and maps will start displaying the “temporarily closed” tags to businesses as a response to COVID 19. This created uncertainty and chaos among the people as they tried to figure out which businesses near them were working and what their hours might be. This has also affected local businesses that were operational during the crisis and were solely reliant on Google My Business listings.

As the situation is restoring back to normal, it becomes indispensable to mark the businesses as open. If your business has been automatically marked as temporarily closed and are looking to remove the label, you can easily do it yourself by following below simple steps:

Step 1: On your Computer, sign in to Google My Business.
